Now Showing in Our Virtual Theatre:

Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs

 An eco-activist adventure for all-ages.

Can an imaginative boy, his sarcastic cousin and a rag-tag pack of talking dogs

save their unique neighborhood from a ruthless developer?

2020, Latvia, 70 mins. Dubbed in English. Directed by Edmunds Jansons.

Jacob loves to draw cities, just like his architect father – and sometimes, the things he draws come true.

When Dad goes on a business trip, Jacob is packed off to stay in the quirky village of Maskachka with his cousin Mimmi and Uncle Eagle. When Jacob draws a skyscraper in the middle of the village park and the bulldozers arrive, it’s up to the youth and local (talking!) dogs to put civic activism into action. Joyfully whimsical, Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs provides a timely lesson in community, ecology, and friendship, told in a charming animation style that recalls classic handpainted picture books. Tickets are $5.99 for 72 Hours of Streaming Access.
