About the event
Ship of Theseus is a 2012 Indian drama that alludes to the paradox of Theseus, a thought experiment by Greek historian Plutarch where he inquires whether a ship that has had all components replaced still remains the same ship. The film explores ideas of identity, justice, beauty and death through three different stories that become intertwined in a beautiful and thought-provoking climax. A visually-impaired photographer, upon receiving a cornea transplant and regaining her eyesight feels “lost” in the world of visuals. A Jain monk rallying against animal-tested medicines is forced to question his ideals when he is diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. A stockbroker after successfully receiving a new kidney discovers that it's origin was through organ theft and makes it his mission to help an impoverished bricklayer get his stolen kidney back from a recipient in Sweden.
